Organic prickly pear seed oil penetrates deep within the skin's layers, pampering skin with revitalising nutrients like vitamin E, linoleic acid, polyphenols and essential fatty acids. The result? The prickly pear (opuntia ficus-indica) is a type of cactus. Prickly pear cacti from the Sidi Ifni and El Kelaa des Sraghna region of Morocco are highly prized.
Das Öl wird aus den Früchten des Feigenkaktus (Opuntia ficus-indica) gewonnen, genauer gesagt aus den darin enthaltenen Kernen. Diese Kerne werden sorgfältig gelöst, gewaschen und an der Sonne getrocknet. Der Samen der Kaktusfeigenfrüchte wird schonend kalt gepresst und nach mehrfacher Filtrierung wird dieses kostbare Öl von Schwebstoffen befreit. Für die Gewinnung von einem Liter Kaktusfeigenkernöl werden ungefähr eine Tonne Feigen benötigt (ca. 8 000 Früchte). Aus dieser Menge an Kaktusfeigen erhält man ca. 50 kg Kerne, die in der Kaltpressung ca. 1 Liter Kaktusfeigenkernöl ergeben.
In den Kernen ist nur wenig Öl enthalten und die Gewinnung ist aufwändig, schwierig und mit viel Handarbeit verbunden, weswegen das Kaktusfeigenkernöl eines der teuersten Öle der Welt ist.
